Burlington is the largest city in the U.S. state of Vermont and the shire town of Chittenden County. Burlington lies 45 miles south of the U.S.-Canadian border and some 94 miles south of Montreal. Burlington had a population of 42,417 at the 2010 census. The city is the hub of the Burlington-South Burlington metropolitan area, consisting of the three northwestern Vermont counties of Chittenden, Franklin and Grand Isle and encompassing the cities of Burlington, South Burlington, and Winooski; the towns of Colchester, Essex, and Williston; and the village of Essex Junction. According to 2009 U.S. Census estimates, the metro area had an estimated population of 208,055, approximately one third of Vermont's total population. Burlington is served by one major Interstate highway, and is at the junction of two U.S. highways. Several Vermont state highways also provide routes into and through the Burlington area. Because Burlington is located on the eastern shore of Lake Champlain at one of the lake's widest points, there is ferry access from the west.
"A few of my friends and I decided to attend at festival in Burlington. We attended the same festival the year before and wanted to see if anything new had been added. Us being cars guys we noticed how many exotic and custom cars were driving around the streets of Burlington. You could tell they take great pride in their vehicles by how clean they look. Not only do they look expensive but you could tell they purchased the best parts for their cars.
During the festival weekend there was a custom and collector car show at one of the local mall parking lot. My friends and I decided to attend before going out later that day to the festival. While walking around I noticed a group of vintage Ferrari's. Me being an exotic car guy I decided to approach one of the car owners. After speaking with him I learned that these cars were highly sought after in the Northeast and that their car club had over 100 members. I'm from Hartford, Connecticut which is a lot smaller market for these cars; and I've never heard of that many original Ferrari's being in the same city. I than learned that one of the largest manufacturers for vintage Ferrari parts was located near by. This got me motivated to purchase one when I get home. The guy I talked to gave me his contact information for when I decide to start my restoration. We later attended the festival and all I could think of was purchasing my own Ferrair. I had a great time at the festival, but I really want to make a point to say the people of Burlington are like no other. They were very friendly and were willing to help us "travelers" out with our car questions." John C - Hartford, CT
